Privacy and your data

Privacy is built into how Schedule My Lessons works. This guide explains exactly where your data lives, what leaves your device (almost nothing), and why.

Everything stays on your device

All your student data — names, activities, availability, and generated schedules — is stored only on your iPhone or iPad. There's no account, no cloud database, and no server that holds your data. We never see it, store it, or share it. This is GDPR-compliant by design.

Works offline

Because your data is local, the app works with no internet connection at all. Build schedules on a train, in a studio basement, anywhere — it's always available.

The only times the app uses the network

Just two, and neither involves your student data:

1. Verifying your subscription with Apple, so the app knows whether you're on the free plan, a trial, or Pro.

2. Fetching a Google Sheet — but only the specific spreadsheet you paste a link to, and only to read it during an import. The students it contains are then stored on your device like any others.

Analytics — anonymous, and optional

The app collects anonymous, aggregate usage statistics (like "an export happened") to help improve it. No student names, schedule contents, or personal data are ever included. You can turn analytics off entirely in Settings → Your Data & Privacy.

Nothing is ever deleted

If your trial ends or a subscription lapses, your students and schedules stay exactly where they are. The free plan simply limits what you can add — it never removes what you've already made.

Good to know

  • Your student data stays on your device — it isn't uploaded, and we never see it.
  • The app works completely offline; the only network use is subscription checks and fetching a Google Sheet you explicitly import.
  • We don't sell or share your data — we can't, since it never leaves your device.
  • If you stop paying, nothing is deleted; the free-tier limits apply going forward, but everything you've already created stays.
  • You can turn analytics off in Settings → Your Data & Privacy. Analytics are anonymous and never include student data.
