Backup and restore

Because everything lives on your device, it's worth keeping a backup — before switching phones, or just for peace of mind. This guide explains how backups work and how to restore one. Backup & restore is a Pro feature.

Create a backup

Go to Settings → Backup & Restore and tap Create Backup. The app bundles all your students, availability, schedules, and groups into a single backup file and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. From there, save it wherever you like — Files, iCloud Drive, email it to yourself, or AirDrop it.

The backup is a plain file created on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us — where it goes afterwards is entirely your choice.

Restore from a backup

Tap Restore, pick your backup file, and confirm. The app checks the file, then replaces your current data with the backup's contents. Every field is validated as it's restored, so a damaged or partial file can't corrupt your app — anything invalid is simply skipped.

Restoring replaces what's currently in the app, so use it when you're moving to a fresh install or recovering lost data — not to merge two sets of students.

Backup reminders

If it's been a while since your last backup, the app gently reminds you on the Home screen so you don't forget. You're never forced to — it's just a nudge.

Good to know

• Backup & restore is a Pro feature. The free plan keeps all your data on-device and never deletes it, but creating and restoring backup files requires Pro.
• Your backup is saved wherever you choose via the share sheet — Files, iCloud Drive, email, or AirDrop. It's never stored by us.
• Restoring replaces your current data with the backup — it's for moving devices or recovering, not merging.
• A backup includes everything — students, availability, schedules, and groups — in one file.
