Adding students
Your students are the foundation of every schedule. This guide covers the three ways to add them, what information each student holds, and how to manage a growing list.
Add a student
Open the Add tab and choose Add Student. Each student has:
- Name — how they appear in your schedules and exports.
- Activity or course — what you teach them (e.g. "Piano", "Spanish", "Tennis"). Lessons are colour-coded by activity, so all your piano students share a colour.
- Lesson duration — how long their lesson is, in minutes.
- Notes (optional) — anything you want to remember.
Once saved, set when they're free — see Setting availability.
Quick Add several at once
Setting up a whole studio? Quick Add (on the Add tab) lets you type student names one after another without leaving the screen — great for getting everyone in fast. You can fill in activities, durations, and availability afterwards.
Import from a spreadsheet
If your students already live in Excel, a CSV, or Google Sheets, you can bring the whole list in at once — names and availability together. See Importing and exporting.
Managing your list
On the Students tab you can:
- Search by name, and sort (A–Z, recently added, by activity, and more).
- Filter — for example, show only students missing availability, or those in a group.
- Swipe a student to delete them (with undo if you change your mind).
- Tap a student to edit anything about them at any time.
Good to know
- The free plan covers up to 8 students; Pro removes the limit entirely.
- Delete a student by mistake and an undo option appears right away. Deleting also won't corrupt an existing schedule — their slot is kept and clearly marked so you can regenerate when ready.
- You can add everyone first and fill in availability later; a filter helps you find who's still missing it.
- Setting an activity is optional, but adding one enables colour-coding and smart group suggestions based on matching activities.
